#907: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

Maybe you have heard that the Producteev service has announced its closing on 11th of May.

https://community.jivesoftware.com/community/products/producteev/blog/2018/04/09/producteev-services-discontinuing-on-may-11

Currently it still works but very poorly. I believe that hundreds of users that have built their workflows around it are now desperately scrambling to find a replacement. Folks from clickup.com have already launched their spam campain, but I believe your service is much closer to the Producteev than theirs. If you act fast, you have a large opportunity! There is already a link to your service in the comments to the blog post, that's how I found you. But you should engage more aggresively.

Some features that the producteev users would like:

  • Easier import from their exported csvs
  • Shortcut to add deadline to the task while creating it (similar to tags and assignees)
  • Be able to set a default asignee when none is specified during the task creation

Go for it!

You are welcome! 😃

Hi Andy, Yes, you can do so by having a column for each of the tags and assignees. Let’s say you have 3 tags and 2 assignees for a task, then it would look like this:

Cool. I have just uploaded my conversion process for others if they want it. See #940

I see in your screenshot that you have two 'Tag' columns. Is that really possible? Also, what about importing when more than one person is assigned to a task?

I ended up putting them in the Title with @ and # symbols.

Hi, I was the one who posted about Quire on https://community.jivesoftware.com Very happy to see you here!!! 🎉 I was searching for a real (and better) alternative for Producteev from about two months ago and just wanted to share my love for https://quire.io with more people in the right moment ... ❤ Posted on https://community.asana.com/t/producteev-migration-to-asana/19824 and https://feedback.clickup.com too, but from ClickUp deleted my account because I had written that their software suffers from not so superb speed, design and equality (on different platforms), a little advertising about Quire and some other not so good things to them ... 😃 Do your best if you feel people deserve something better ... You may write to [email protected] , [email protected] for quicker results ... I had written to them about Producteev too, but for now - no concrete comment about that, but the tutorial https://quire.io/blog/p/How-to-migrate-to-Quire-Copy-and-paste.html is quite good even at this moment ... 😃 Quire has some issues with the Android version, because it is only some months old and still needs progressing ... But let everyone write to them about any bugs/suggestions in order to advance faster on the path towards perfection ... 😃

"Perfection is not a summit, it is not an extreme. There is no extreme: whatsoever you do, there is always the possibility of something better and exactly this possibility of something better is the very meaning of progress."

"Perfection is not a maximum or an extreme. It is an equilibrium and a harmonisation."

"In all action, all work done, the degree of perfection depends upon the degree of consciousness."

"Try to enjoy doing everything you do.

When you are interested in what you do, you enjoy doing it.

To be interested in what you do, you must try to do it better and better.

In progress lies true joy."

"Perfection in the work must be the aim, but it is only by a very patient effort that this can be obtained."

I am here too because of your comment elsewhere i think :-) I had also raised the "Default Assignee" idea.

One thing that may be a problem (and perhaps you can help me understand better) is the way notifications work. I lived in the notification window in Producteev. I hardly ever filtered for tasks. I just worked through my notification list.

It seems that Quire's notification window is...umm... as simplistic as Producteev's... but maybe worse because it seemed to clear all the notifications when i looked at the list and it is very, very spaced out.

How do you compare Producteev's and Quire's notification handling??

Thanks

Andy, Apr 24, 2018

Ah, I see. It would be good to have that in the import documentation.

Many thanks for the detailed reply. It was very helpful. I will take your advice and raise some ideas I think. But I should use it more before I make suggestions :-) thanks again

Welcome to a new world of possibilities! 😃 Life is all about progress and Producteev did a really great work for us, but it didn’t advance further, many bugs remained unresolved and quite user wishes not realized …

Quire is still being mastered and the best is yet to come … Even now, in its present state, it offers many more comfortable features compared to our old good friend Producteev ... Yes, there are still some imperfections but that’s why we are here – not only to enjoy using it, but to assist in its beautiful transformation and growth towards complete harmony, too …

Yes, you are quite right that Quire needs more attention on the Notification System … I wrote to Crystal about some issues with it and now waiting for them to be resolved … But you can still make an additional post about your concrete problems with it … For me the issue with automatically marking all messages as read when clicking on the bell is not so big because in most cases when I receive a notification I read it instantly and so no one is lost of my sight … You can vote to add a functionality to mark some notification messages as not read if you want to postpone some for later view, like in Producteev …

Not really spaced out – if you make a comparison you will see when you open Producteev’s notification window you can view 3 to 3 and a half tasks at once, in Quire – it is the same, but here you can click on users, tasks and comments right from the message … 😃

Did you noticed that besides the notification on the bell you get an orange dot in your project and on the concrete task in question when something new hit your space?! ;)

If you use so much the notification window you could suggest them some improvements like:

  • when you scroll down to some message in the list and then close it (or open a task from there) and if you come back and click on it again - to start from where you left ...
  • to make an option to “zoom in” the notification window like the zooming in a task functionality …
  • provide different/custom colours, the green is maybe too much the same for all items ...
  • option to set “remember me again” after some fixed minute/hours …

Read more about the New Navigation Bar and Filter, too - don't be so limited only with notifications, there are more hidden treasures here than Producteev: https://quire.io/blog/p/introducing-New-Navigation-Bar-and-Filter.html

Have great joy!!!

PS: Yes, auto assign is a good option to have … I wrote about that from my test account here: #{Quire_Feedbacks/845}

Hi guys, fyi, you can now import completed tasks (aka Status: Completed) from your Producteev exported CSV file. 😃 Screen Shot 2018-05-02 at 6.43.58 PM.png
