I've appreciated the ability to change the text or background color of tasks in other project management and organizational tools for highlighting, indicating item priority and visualization.
It would be wonderful to have that ability here, such as to set urgent tasks to appear in RED, or work-related items in orange, or home-improvement items in blue, and "fun" items in green, for example.
I know tags have colors, but those colors are chosen at random and I have to edit them, and tags take up space on each row.
I really believe that providing a list of 64 colors for the text and background color would really help to manage and prioritize tasks without much extra work from the user.
Hi Kjennings, the only way to change the color of the text is through CSS style.
e.g. by typing **{color:green, font-size:20px, text-decoration:underline|a big green task}**, you will get " a big green task ". But having a WYSIWYG editor would be great, we need to think about it.

Not really :-) That page talks about using CSS e.g. "{сolor: green|a green task}" and other advanced programming techniques, so as far as regular users are concerned this isn't feasible. It doesn't seem practical to create tasks with embedded codes in the names. I also think that things can go wrong (as they sometimes do with computers), and names may get corrupted or displayed incorrectly.
So for all intents and purposes, I'd say that unfortunately, 99% of average users will not be able to achieve what I'm proposing. <<< see, I didn't even know that putting text between asterisks makes it appear in italics. Secret and invisible functionality makes software complicated... And good features go unnoticed.

I'd like to second @alexr here. One of the side effects is that my tasks look weird when they're displayed in my calendar (via calendar integration)
