I love the detailed tracking of all recent edits! (Ctrl+Z brings up that advanced UNDO history window).
But can you make the first line or button in that window "Undo last edit" so I don't have to look at a long and intimidating detailed list to figure things out, decide what I want, etc? In 99% of all cases, I just want to UNDO THE LAST EDIT.
And that window just complicates things in 99% of use cases. It's nice to have, but please offer a simple "Undo last edit" or something like that.
Everyone who needs to track their revision and edit history can play with it and undo any particular item, but most people will hit the "Undo last edit" and be happy :-)
Thanks!
Hi, I wonder if this is something you are considering. In fact you broke the oh-so-familiar Ctrl+Z shortcut, and AFAIK there is no simple way to just undo the last action using only the keyboard. Or is it? Thanks

In Quire, contrary to 99.99% of the apps in the universe 😁, Ctrl+Z does not undo. It brings up a pop-up instead. Then you are forced to use the mouse, which is also incredibly unusual, to actually undo something. So what should be easy, quick and familiar is turned into a two-step task that simply cannot be performed with the keyboard only. IMO you should set Ctrl+Z to do what it should do, i.e. simply undo the last step. Then choose another key combination (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+Z) to bring up the more advanced Undo popup. This should reestablish the order of the universe!

I'm also surprised by the behavior of undo. In every other application Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z immediately undoes the last action without any further clicking around. It would be nice to have the same here with a separate route to see the undo history. To clarify: It would be nice to have some keyboard shortcut to undo the last change immediately without any further prompts. So for example, if I add a task, then hit the keyboard shortcut, that task should disappear (ideally with an action being added to a redo stack so that if I were to perform the redo action the task would come back).
Also separately from this issue I've had a bug where if I re-order items and then undo it some times leaves items in an inconsistent state (eg. it moved an item to be a child of a different item, that i had never set it to be).
There is also no redo (as far as I can tell? maybe I missed it), which is also surprising.
Quire is really good in many other ways (having dates, timelines etc.) but these issues with the undo history are a little workflow-breaking at the moment.

We currently do not support the redo button. I will pass your feedback to our team and discuss further about it. I will keep you informed if we have any updates. Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Unfortunately, we do not plan to change the current undo shortcut behavior and will not implement another shortcut to open the undo popup. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi all, I wanted to inform you that our team has made an improvement regarding the undo feature. Now, when you press Ctrl + Z, the undo pop-up will appear, and you can simply press Enter or Space to undo the last action. Please try out this new improvement. Thank you.

Hello, seems to be a step in the right direction. I still think Ctrl+Z should just undo with no confirmation -- and you should assign another key combination to this functionality, but this shortcut is good news. And it's good to know you are working on this issue. Thanks!

Hi Alex, That sounds reasonable. We shall consider it. 😃

Hi, You can use Ctrl+Z to undo certain actions, such as correcting a typo in a task name while in edit mode.
Could you please provide what action you would like to undo? Sharing your use case will help our team understand your feedback better.
