#803: Quire Feedback

Tell me if this feature makes sense:

When I'm looking at the list of my items, let me press a letter (without doing a search), and select the next item that starts with that letter.

Strawberries Milk Bread and waffles Marinade Meat Lemons

If I press <M> on the keyboard, Milk should get highlighted. Now, if I press <М> again, the next item that starts with M should become selected, which is Marinade. If I press <L> now, Lemons should get selected. It's how lists work in Windows apps and on the web - e.g. you can type your country's first letter in the list [Countries].

This is the easiest way to "jump" to the next item - your eyes see that it starts with a letter, and you hit that letter on the keyboard.

It would search DOWN from the current item, and only in the visible-expanded items. It shouldn't expand items to search inside - it's only on the currently shown items. Then it can wrap the search around and search at the top.

This is like a one-letter search. If I want to search for a longer string, I'll use your search feature.

Please let me know if I've made it clear of it sounds confusing :-)

Sorry, it was late at night, I figured out what I wanted to say 😃 I am editing my original post to match that, please check it out above ^.

Hi Alex, What you are suggesting is, be able to enter just 1 or 2 characters to search task(s)? Currently, we ask users to enter at least 3 characters because we want to narrow down the search results for them. Would not want to display a super long list. 😃 Also, when you enter "wax" to find it, and hover this task in the search results, it would be highlighted in the task list.

Let me know if the update above made sense. It's the first-character search to cycle through items that start with that symbol. (Keep in mind that the letter D has a special meaning, it's some kind of shortcut).
