If you are on an item and press Ctl or Shift-Enter to create a new item, and then decide that you don't want to add the item and hit Esc, you are dropped to the next item in the list, and not the one that you started on.
This is especially annoying when you accidentally create a sub-item when you want a sibling item, and vice versa, since you can't just hit escape and then create the other type of item. Instead you have to navigate back up to the item where you started from.
Hi Mike, I see where you are coming from. We will take your suggestion into consideration.

Hi Mike, Awesome. 😃

This is now working as I requested! Much better experience.

Hi Mike, That sounds reasonable. In your case, if let's say you accidentally created a subtask and actually want a sibling task, you can press 'Shift+Tab' to make it a sibling. Would it help?

Hey Crystal,
That sounds reasonable, but not ideal. When I do something wrong, my first impulse is to undo it and return to where I was before, either by hitting Esc or Ctl-Z. I'd have to learn that I could switch from one type of task to the other, and then I'd have to train myself to do that instead of habitually hitting Esc to cancel the wrong choice.
