DESIRED BEHAVIOR:
For the Quire Search bar (upon hitting a link "List All Results" at the top of the search result list) to filter my tasks in the main task window pane (center pane) according to the typed search query (ex unless specifically stated, the search text should find tasks with the text in the description/title/any tag/and assignee).

to optionally be able to save the Filter Query under the Filter Icon ("funnel icon") for later use.

CURRENT BEHAVIOR: The Search Bar behavior...
- When using the search bar (in the top right corner of quire) it only lists tasks with a drop down. That is pretty cool assuming my task list is small and I am looking for only one task. Yes, cool, and I like it, but I still need the requested feature in addition to this.
The filter behavior...
- It only allows filtering by predefined task properties: ie Status, Due Date, Assignee, Tags, etc.. I love this options, but still need the requested feature because...
- There is no option to use a free text filter on the tasks in the main window. The closest thing is to filter by preset options by having the user 1) click the filter icon, 2) scroll down to customize, 3) click "filter by", 4) go to customize, and select one of the options....
ISSUE WITH CURRENT BEHAVIOR:
- I cannot view all my tasks that have "Subpoena" (either in task name or description) in a comprehensive report.
- A work around would be to go back and Tag all tasks relating to a subpoena with "Sbj:Subpoena"; however, hindsight is 20/20 and users need something for when the environment is not perfectly designed.

Hello Crystal, thank you again for the reply.
Yes, I love the existing drop down that comes from the search bar! I also love how the context is displayed in the drop down. It really works well. Also, I like how the task is highlighted in the main window on hover. All of that is perfect.
The only issue is being able to see the results in the main window. Not sure the best way to implement... maybe open the search results in a new window? To me it would be easier on the developers to just filter the main list. And to be clear, I am not wanting this behavior to replace the existing behavior. Hopefully both features can coexist!
Regarding the last question about point 2 (being able to see the same search results the next time)... this is much less important. But, I definitely know if I could save search results for quick access, I would use that feature. Essentially it is like the smart folders... might not be worth implementing b/c you already have smart folders.

Hi Matthew, One reason we list the search results in a drop down is for users to view the results and at the same time, be able to see the “context” of each task from the search results in the middle main panel. I see your point on a comprehensive report though. We shall think about it. For your second point, please let me double check. Let’s say you search keyword “Subpoena.” Then, you would like to be able to see the same search results the next time via a single click?

Hi Matthew, You are welcome. 😃 I see. Simply put, you would like to see search results in the middle main panel so to further filter the task list. Let us think about it!
