Hi, quire has very nice addon for google chrome which instantly notifies about different things while you browsing. This addon helps really fast react for different things and join to development for example if working with someone, or if you have some timer to do some thing, Quire Chrome Addon always notify in correct time what need to do.

But to be clear, there is no such addon for the second biggest browser. Can you please implement quire add-on for Firefox? (same functional)

There is no problems at all with your addon for Firefox (maybe not well tested yet, but works fine at Firefox).

All what is need to do, its a sign and post it to FF addon center.

Plus there are a little bit few errors when installing the addon, but all of these problems can be easy solved by devs

Reading manifest: Error processing background.persistent: Event pages are not currently supported. This will run as a persistent background page.
Reading manifest: Error processing browser_action.no_default_popup: An unexpected property was found in the WebExtension manifest.
Reading manifest: Error processing update_url: An unexpected property was found in the WebExtension manifest.
Reading manifest: Error processing options_page: An unexpected property was found in the WebExtension manifest.

You can try it by yourself too.

How install Quire Addon for Firefox (55 / 57 and so on)

  1. You need to download crx file from google chrome official store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/quire/fafnibnpfejgmleffgpnddkboddbipgm?hl=en). You can try to use any tool for example https://chrome-extension-downloader.com/

  2. Rename .crx to .xpi part

  3. Open your firefox and go to this page about:debugging

  4. Press "Load Temporary Addon" button

  5. Select your downloaded and renamed .xpi file

  6. Done! Now you will see addon which works pretty fine until you will restart firefox.

Very soon Firefox (at Nov 14) will start to make very big hype for thier browser for surviving. This is related to new project called quantum (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/)

So, it will be great if devs will sign their extension, and a little bit fix (spent few hours of their time or even minutes) and will push their addon to firefox addon store (the same as for chrome).

I know some trick, but each user must to do it by himself. The best way what can do Quire is develop the extension, it will take just few hours for them to develop firefox extension which will follow all firefox requirements for adding it to webstore, but nobody care or have no time.

I've tried everything that's proposed but it doesn't work. "Chrome Store Foxified" stops at "Preparing to download and install..."

@crystal hi, the task can be marked as solved. Because FF finally supports chrome addone with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chrome-store-foxified/

Steps how how install Quire Addon to Firefox:

  1. Install addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chrome-store-foxified/
  2. Do everything what will require Chrome Store Foxified.
  3. Enter a link for https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/quire/fafnibnpfejgmleffgpnddkboddbipgm
  4. Follow instructions.
  5. As result you will install the addon and it will work fine without issues.
