#588: Quire Feedback

hello, i couldnt figure out a way to have a new task be added above the currently selected task - a keyboard shortcut?

this is my way of achieving task dependency, by going bottom-to-top, starting with the deepest sub tasks. once i hit the next level up, the next task to do is seen right above it, rather than below it where i need to scan past all the completed subtasks (i use the filter to view all tasks). so when im planning things out, it would be more efficient for me to use keystrokes to type out my list quickly rather than type everything top-down and then manually drag them into bottom-up order - if that makes sense.

possible feature request? thank you, lovely product!

hi again, by the way would also love to see 'add new super-level task above' please πŸ˜ƒ thanks for your consideration!

ah, i found a temporary workaround - i found the option in the project settings to change the tasks to be added to the top when using the + in the top menu bar. this doesnt seem to change the keyboard shortcut however - tasks added via the keyboard shortcut will still be added to the bottom.

at least in this way i can aim and maneuver a bit better by going between the keyboard shortcuts and the + in the top menu bar, depending on where i'd like my task to go. i still have to move the below tasks to subtasks if i mean for the new task to be a super-level task, but it's more manageable!

ideally i'd love to be able to do all four additions via keyboard shortcut:

  • add same-level task below
  • add sub-level task below
  • add same-level task above
  • add super-level task above

thanks again for your consideration~ im enjoying using quire a lot!

Hi ✚ , Happy to hear you are enjoying Quire! Now with the β€œAdd to top” option for task checked in the project settings, you can press shortcut T to add root-level (super-level) tasks to the top. πŸ˜ƒ
