#297: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

I'm not sure if Quire has this feature, but inheriting properties from parent tasks would be an amazing feature.

Not really sure how it could be implemented easily, but one idea is to prefix a search term/property with "p". Ex "pTag:FinDept"or "pDueDate:##/##/####" or "pAssignee:JohnHancock"

More examples:

  1. narrow results by specifying a tag of the parent task (such as "pTag:SwellCareIns") and the tag of the actual task you would like queried (such as "Tag:ClaimDispute"). This way, if I am on the phone with the billing dept of a certain ins co, I can quickly tell them all the other issues I am having.

  2. Also due dates... a search such as "pDueD:1/1/2017" and "Tag:Electrical" would show all tasks that are tagged as "Electrical" who have a parent or grandparent task that is due on 1/1/2017.

Hi Matthew, I think I know what you mean but please allow me to double-check: Let's say you have a task with a tag "Bug" and a due date "12/22/2016". So, when you search by for example "pTag:Bug+pDueDate:12/22/2016", you would find this tag and also its subtasks in the search results. Correct? If so, this sounds like an excellent idea. 👍 Please let us think further about it, thanks. 😃
